I created Biblical Dream Meanings because I found that many dream interpretation websites aren’t rooted in Scripture. Instead, they often promote practices like divination, tarot, astrology, or other beliefs that draw people away from God’s Word.
My vision is to provide a trusted, biblically grounded resource where dream interpretation begins with Scripture. While I am human and capable of making mistakes, I prayerfully study God’s Word, read through credible theological sources to ensure scripture integrity, and approach every article with humility and discernment. Here are a few of my favorite biblical commentaries: gotquestions.org and bibleref.com.
Above all, I believe interpreting dreams from a Christian perspective should point us back to the Bible, deepen our understanding of God’s character, strengthen our identity in Christ, and equip us to faithfully live out His kingdom purposes.
Our Six Core Beliefs
Biblical Dream Meanings exists at the intersection of Scripture, psychology, and spiritual discernment. These six core beliefs guide how we approach dreams:
1. God Still Speaks
Throughout Scripture, God used dreams to reveal His plans, provide warnings, offer guidance, and communicate with His people. We believe God can still use dreams today, but every dream must be tested and aligned with His Word.
2. Dreams Can Reveal the Inner Life
Not every dream is prophetic. God created the human mind to process emotions, memories, experiences, and daily circumstances. Psychology shows that dreams often help organize and process what we experience while awake (Domhoff, 2022; Stickgold, 2005). Understanding this helps us discern what may be coming from the soul before assuming every dream is a divine message.
3. Self-Examination Comes Before Interpretation of Others
While God can give dreams concerning other people, dreams are often a reflection of our own hearts. Our fears, wounds, desires, judgments, and unresolved emotions can influence what we dream and how we perceive others. We believe dream interpretation should begin with humility and self-reflection, following Jesus’ teaching to examine the plank in our own eye before addressing the speck in another’s (Matthew 7:3–5).
4. God’s Revelation Often Requires Patience
Not every dream is immediately understood or fulfilled. Joseph’s dreams (Genesis 37:5–11) revealed God’s purpose, but the fulfillment came over 30 years later through seasons of betrayal, hardship, and waiting. A dream may reveal God’s destination without revealing every step of the journey.
5. Scripture Provides the Meaning Behind Symbols
The Bible is filled with symbolic language. God uses imagery, metaphors, parables, visions, and everyday examples to reveal deeper truths. From the Lamb of God to the Lion of Judah, from trees representing people to water representing spiritual realities, Scripture shows that symbols carry meaning within their biblical context.
6. Dreams Should Draw Us Closer to God
The purpose of understanding dreams is not fascination, fear, or dependence on revelation. Dreams should ultimately lead us back to Scripture, deepen our understanding of God’s character, strengthen our identity in Christ, and help us faithfully participate in His kingdom purposes.
Meet the author…
My name is Christina Daniels and I’m the founder of Biblical Dream Meanings, Adorned Heart, and King at Heart. I’m originally from the Island of Jamaica, but I currently live in South Florida, U.S.A.
I am passionate about seeing people transformed at a spiritual, emotional, and societal level. So, I received a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Public Policy. In the future, I would love to earn some type of theological or pastoral degree (after I pay back my grad school loans of course!)
Most of my time is spent practicing self-love, loving my family + friends, serving at church, writing, providing empowerment coaching, and teaching History to middle school students! Whew! No wonder, I’m always pressed for time! Overall, if God gets the glory through my life then I’m one of the happiest girls alive.
I became interested in dreams because
In the early stages of my faith, I dreamt I was at my boyfriend’s house and a stairway became available. I climbed up the stairway and went very high. Then it started rocking back and forth. I held on for dear life. Now looking back, God was showing my spiritual ascension and the problems I’d face as I tried to embrace him.
One of those struggles was having faith in a miraculous God. I asked him to help me know if he was truly real or fake. God answered me. He sent me three signs which I still doubted. You can hear my FULL story via YouTube or by clicking here.
Then, God spoke to me audibly. He told me: “If I didn’t make you wait you wouldn’t have prayed. Make sure you pray from now on.”
These signs helped me to leave an unhealthy relationship. While in the relationship, God pointed out my lukewarmness. I started dreaming that I was doing nothing about the chaos in the world. In one dream, my Bible was shut and I was cuddled up with a man that preferred sin over righteousness.
Ultimately, dreams teach us about ourselves, others, God, and the world. If we take the time to pray and understand our dreams it can bring healing, clarity, and direction in life. However, interpreting dreams is not an easy task. To fully understand dreams you must fully understand yourself and God – which is an endless journey. But it is a fun journey!
